There are many benefits for you, your neighbours, the street where you live, your village or your town if you get involved with the Take a Pride in Perthshire Campaign – or become a ‘Bloomer’ as our members are affectionately known!

Membership offers you entry to a family of individuals from all walks of life united by their enthusiasm for their local neighbourhood and keen to do something positive for it. The Campaign is a means for people to work together to tackle issues they care about – such as sustainability, energy conservation and waste management. Here are just some of the benefits our volunteers have told us about:

* Increased civic pride and sense of belonging
* Improvement to the local environment brought about by annual planting and high levels of cleanliness.
* A sense of being able to ‘make a difference’ and ‘get things done’
* Being out and about, meeting people and simply enjoying life
* A boost to the local economy
* Regeneration of disused, unsightly areas
* Feeling healthy and getting fit
* Positive working relationships with other community groups and the local authority.

Everyone’s contribution is needed and valued. And whilst keen gardeners are welcomed, you don’t have to be especially green-fingered – we need people to do all sorts of things such as fundraising, weeding, organising parties and other events, watering, writing newsletters, baking – and of course, putting the kettle on for a reviving cup of tea!
