Glenfarg & Duncrievie: Train Stop

We are pleased to announce that we have secured the final funds to allow this project to go ahead in summer 2011. Glenfarg and Duncrievie in Bloom (GDiB) is one of our most active groups and their project - called Train Stop - will create a focal point and meeting place for the village in the gap site next to Arngask Primary School.

The newly landscaped space will reflect local heritage and culture, in particular the Victorian railway which passed through Glenfarg on its way to the Highlands and brought prosperity to the village which therefore became a holiday destination in its own right.

Planning approval was received in October 2010.

In addition to local funding raised by Glenfarg a & Duncrievie in Bloom and the Take a Pride in Perthshire Association, funds have been provided by  by PKC Rural Initiatives, SITA, and the project is part financed by the Rural Tayside LEADER Programme 2009-2013.

Total project cost is approximately £21,000.
