Community Capacity Building Project |
|
This project shared ideas, information and expertise between our members and created this new website. The idea grew out of our 2009 progress review which highlighted the wealth of expertise within local groups, ways we could increase community participation and how we could communicate with one another better given the geographical spread of our groups.
Discussions focused on the potential of the website and the success of the 2009 AGM and how these might be developed as tools to help the our members. Ideas grew into a project: ‘People in Partnership Community Capacity Building’. Funding applications were submitted to PKC Grants Direct and to Rural Tayside LEADER which were approved in December 2009. Total project cost was £6532.
The first Best Practice Workshop was held at Bankfoot in March 2010 followed by the second at Blairgowrie in April, and the third in Glenfarg in August. Feedback was very positive and provided information which the Association can use for future plannnig.
An open tender to host and re-design the TPPA website was held in the winter and Websmart Media – a local business – was awarded the contract. We were pleased that in response to our appeal two new volunteers (from Crieff and Comrie) came forward to strengthen our website management team. The new website was launched at the August Workshop at Glenfarg. The project completed in November 2010.
This project is part financed by the Scottish Government and the European Community Rural Tayside LEADER 2007-13 Programme and Perth & Kinross Quality of Life Trust.
