The Take Pride in Perth & Kinross Campaign

The campaign began in 1993. You can find a list of all participating communities here.  As a result of the energy, civic pride and sheer hard work of hundreds of volunteers, the Campaign has become a driving force in enhancing the environment and quality of life for everyone in Perth and Kinross. The local Council plays a vital role in this partnership through the support of its Community Greenspace team.

The Take Pride in Perth & Kinross Association

The Association was established in 1998 when many more local groups were being set up. The Association supports local groups, provides advice, shares knowledge and experience, helps raise funds and enables local communities to carry out larger scale projects. Our formal name remains the 'Take a Pride in Perthshire Association', but we changed our 'known by' name to the Take A Pride in Perth & Kinross Association in 2017.

Governance

We are Scottish Charity registered with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR). We are charity number SC 027774 and our accounts and other details are published on the OSCR website. Our Constitution sets out our governing principles. Our committee of Trustees (see below) meets nine time a year. Our Annual General Meetings are normally held in May, but in 2020 and 2021 Covid restrictions prevented face to face meetings so, in line with OSCR's advice, we held 'virtual' AGMS in those years.

Accounts and Annual Reports

Our 2021 AGM was held via Zoom on 7 June. Members approved the following documents which are now published here (click on the titles to open): the Trustees' Annual Report 2020-21, the Annual Accounts 2020-21 and the Treasurer's Notes to the Accounts

Our Accounts for 2019-20 and our 2019-20 Annual Report are also available by clicking on the links.

Our member groups run local activities organised in line with aims of the Royal Horticultural Society's Britain in Bloom campaign: Horticulture , Environment and Community. Activities include reviving neglected sites, planting and maintaining public flower beds, hanging baskets and other planting displays. Volunteers also undertake environmental improvement & conservation projects, tackle litter, graffiti and dog fouling and involve schools in environmental education. We promote care and conservation of the environment, raise funds and share best practice, information and ideas.

Trustees

The Association is managed by a volunteer Committee of Trustees,  elected by members at the Annual General Meeting. Committee meetings are held nine time a year ('virtually'' in 2020 and 2021)  to assess project applications and monitor their progress, to review the Association's finances and to discuss other ways of supporting member groups.
